ACER Teacher Education Partnership Grant

The ACER Teacher Education Grant supports higher education-based teacher educators to conduct partnerships with teachers in schools or Early Childhood centres.

The grant will support the teacher and their academic partner to demonstrate outcomes from the partnership.

The recipient will receive:

Framed certificate, virtually presented at the 2022 conference.

$5000, consisting of $2500 for research expenses for a high education-based teacher educator, and $2500 for the school/Early Childhood teacher partner.

2 x Complimentary registrations at the ATEA national conference in July 2023 (includes ATEA membership for the 2023-2024 year)

Total value $6600

The successful applicants will be required to present work at the ATEA 2023 conference and, on completion of the project, are encouraged to seek publication of their work in the Association’s journal, the Asia-Pacific Journal of Teacher Education (APJTE)

ATEA Research Recognition Award

To recognise and encourage a research project which supports the significance of teacher educators.

For research that has already been, is planned, or is currently being conducted.

Planned research should be a project that can be completed in a one-year timeframe from July, in line with the annual ATEA national conference.

This award is open to academics who hold a PhD/EdD at any stage of their career, inclusive of early career and sessional academics.

A grant of $2500 for research support, as well as complimentary registration for the 2023 national conference in July 2023 (including ATEA membership for 2023-2024 financial year).

Note: If a team of researchers are successful, only one complimentary 2023 ATEA Conference registration will be awarded.

Total value $3300

The successful applicant will be required to present their work at the 2023 ATEA conference and, on completion of the project, is encouraged to seek publication of their work in the Association’s journal, the Asia-Pacific Journal of Teacher Education (APJTE). Submitted articles will be subject to the regular APJTE review process.

ATEA Early Career Researcher Grant

The ATEA Early Career Researcher Grant is to support an early career researcher (ECR) to develop their capacity by encouraging them to work on a project based around teacher education. The grant will support a research project that can be completed in a one-year time frame, in line with the annual ATEA national conference.

A grant of $2000 for research support, as well as complimentary registration for the 2022 ATEA Conference will be awarded to the successful applicant.

Total value $2800

The successful applicant will be required to present their work at the 2023 ATEA conference and, on completion of the project, is encouraged to seek publication of their work in the Association’s journal, the Asia-Pacific Journal of Teacher Education (APJTE). Submitted articles will be subject to the regular APJTE review process.

ATEA Teacher Educator of the Year Award 2022

The aim of the ATEA Teacher Educator of the Year Award is to encourage and recognise the innovative teaching practices of a teacher educator at university level. Nominations will be accepted from scholars whose primary activity is teaching in undergraduate or postgraduate Teacher Education.

The ATEA Teacher Educator of the Year award recipient will receive:

    • Framed certificate: ATEA Teacher Educator of the Year Award, presented at the 2023 conference
    • $5000 courtesy of ATEA
    • Complimentary registration to 2023 ATEA Conference (includes ATEA membership for 2023-24 financial year)
