Associate Professor Jennifer Clifton – President

Jen Clifton is an Associate Professor in Teacher Education at Queensland University of Technology. Her research and leadership focus on initial teacher education, especially professional experience, employment-based pathways, and the partnerships that support strong teacher preparation. She has worked closely with schools, systems and community partners to develop initiatives that respond to workforce need while expanding access to teaching. Jen’s research has contributed to national conversations about innovative pathways into teaching and the changing landscape of teacher education.

Associate Professor Amanda Gutierrez – President Elect

Amanda Gutierrez is an Associate Professor in Teacher Education at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) Brisbane campus. Her teaching and research focus on critical literacies, work integrated learning, partnerships, digital futures, and professional becoming. She has conceptualised and led multiple school/university/system partnership projects across Australia and internationally. Amanda has a passion for critically reflexive and creative education and combining these skills to imagine the future of education.

Dr Rachel Perry – Secretary

Dr Rachel Perry is a Lecturer in Education and Acting Deputy Head of School (NSW) at the Australian Catholic University. She has a background in professional experience, arts, literacy and mobile pedagogies with her research focusing on the role of situated learning as it spans these areas. Rachel’s research investigates innovative structures and supports for pre-service and in-service teacher development including consideration of its role in alternate teacher education pathways, for supporting readiness and the evolving nature of teacher identity. Exploration of the role of emerging technologies and their influence builds on prior experience and grants in related spaces. Rachel is part of the ACU research team exploring the All Points to Teaching (APTT) Employment-based Pathway. She is currently Secretary of the Australian Teacher Education Association.
